Richa Chadha’s ‘Hi, Galwan’ tweet sparked a massive backlash. It has sparked a major uproar, with citizens demanding that the actress be barred from entering the country. Many people were offended and believed the Indian army was insulted, so her apology now makes no sense. Yesterday, Akshay Kumar condemned her tweet, and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit filed a police complaint against her. Scroll down for more information.
As most people are aware, Ashoke is the current president of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association. He is one of the well-known figures who broke the silence on the scandal and took the necessary action by filing a police complaint. Richa will not get away with an apology, according to the filmmaker.
Ashoke Pandit has filed a police complaint against Richa Chadha and requested that an FIR be filed against her. “This attitude of a responsible citizen to abuse and mock our security forces is not acceptable,” he said. When I read the tweet, images of families crying, shouting, and screaming as the dead bodies of soldiers returned to their families flashed through my mind. You cannot mock the soldiers simply because you are a celebrity; we are alive because of them. They defend the country. You can not laugh at them.”
“By inserting them, you are insulting the country,” Ashoke Pandit adds. This lady’s behavior is anti-national. Instead of simply tweeting or expressing my displeasure on social media, I felt it was my civic duty to support our troops. So they do not feel like they are giving up their lives. I want to condemn the entertainment industry. If you do not support the security forces, the hashtag “Boycott Bollywood” is justified.”
Not only that, but Ashoke wants strict action taken against Richa Chadha. “She can not say anything and then apologize.” I will take appropriate action against her. I will approach higher authorities and, if necessary, the CM and that FIR has been filed. You can not just say whatever you want and then apologize with a note. Sorry is not an acceptable response. She committed a crime against the country and should be punished in accordance with the law,” he concluded.
